Adams Stepner Participates in Statewide Hunger Relief Campaign

On February 7, 2017, ASWD partner Lee Metzger attended the kickoff ceremonies at the Capitol building in Frankfort for the first annual Kentucky Legal Food Frenzy. Mr. Metzger is the Co-Chair of the inaugural Legal Food Frenzy planning committee.

The Legal Food Frenzy is an initiative of the Kentucky Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Kentucky Association of Food Banks.  The goal is to help stock Kentucky’s food banks during the summer months, when demand is often at its highest. Later this spring, law firms, legal organizations, and law schools will be pitted against each other in a competitive, two-week food drive to raise the equivalent of 600,000 pounds of food. The firm or organization that collects the most food will be awarded the prestigious Attorney General’s Cup at the Kentucky Bar Association annual convention, which will be held this June in Owensboro.

The February 7 kickoff event enjoyed bipartisan support, with featured speakers including Attorney General Andy Beshear, Secretary of State Allison Lundergan Grimes, and Commissioner of Agriculture Ryan Quarles. All in attendance were committed to stamping out hunger in Kentucky, and there was a palpable energy in the air.
